Co-Engineered Battery Systems for UAV Manufacturers

UAV airframe manufacturers and system integrators face a fundamental choice in power system architecture: integrate a catalogue battery pack and accept its constraints, or co-develop a custom pack optimized for the platform. FLYVOLT's OEM programme is designed for manufacturers who choose the second path.

Co-Development Process

FLYVOLT OEM engagements begin with a joint specification review covering airframe integration dimensions, weight budget, voltage and capacity targets, connector and communication interface requirements, and compliance path for the target markets. From this review, our engineering team produces a preliminary design proposal within five business days.

Prototype packs are delivered within 20–30 business days from specification sign-off. Integration testing, design iteration, and BMS firmware calibration are conducted jointly with the OEM engineering team. Production-ready design freeze typically occurs within 60–90 days from programme initiation.

Private Label and Branding

FLYVOLT OEM packs can be supplied under the customer's brand with custom labels, colour-coded enclosures, and branded documentation. All private-label packs retain full FLYVOLT compliance documentation and warranty backing. The customer's brand identity is maintained at the product level while FLYVOLT manages the supply chain and quality system.

NDA and IP Protection

All OEM programmes are conducted under mutual NDA. Custom form factors, connector designs, BMS firmware modifications, and integration documentation developed for a specific OEM customer are treated as customer-confidential and are not shared with or applied to other customers without explicit written consent.

Recurring Supply and Price-Volume Agreements

OEM customers receive recurring supply commitments with price-volume tiers, guaranteed lead times, and production priority. Forecast sharing allows FLYVOLT to pre-position cell inventory and production capacity for high-volume OEM programmes. Safety stock arrangements are available for customers with surge demand requirements.

Compliance Support for Market Expansion

When OEM customers expand into new markets — EU CE marking, US FCC/FTC requirements, or specific national aviation authority certifications — FLYVOLT provides updated compliance documentation and can coordinate with certification bodies on battery-specific technical queries. This reduces the certification burden on the OEM's internal regulatory team.
